We are looking for a highly motivated Hardware and Systems Engineering Manager with unique breadth and depth of experience.

The successful candidate will lead board-level hardware design, mechanical design, and systems engineering functions within the company’s highly driven and competent interdisciplinary engineering team.

Our hardware and physical designs are characterized by unique and creative integration of multiple leading-edge video analytics, communication, and sensor technologies, high computational performance, operation in wide outdoor environmental conditions, and optimal cost tradeoffs.

Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses both hands-on and management of:
System-level architectural design
Board-level circuit, schematic, and PCB design
Electro-mechanical and mechanical packaging design
Board and system-level component selection and
qualification
Regulatory and industry compliance engineering
Creation and management of long-term constructive vendor relationships
Active interaction with product management and architecture, software engineering, QA, manufacturing, and other teams at our company.
Active engagement with manufacturing to ensure smooth and predictable release process
Management of a small, but highly productive hardware engineering team
Management of 3rd party design partners
Evaluation/selection of associated design tools and technologies

Key Qualifications:
10+ years relevant experience
Bachelor in relevant technical discipline (Computer, Electrical, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering)
Extensive demonstrated experience in board-level hardware design, including:

High-performance digital design including CPUs, DSPs, memory, and interfacing
Power systems and sensor interfacing analog design
Interfacing technologies (PCIe, I2C, serial, GPIO, A/D, etc.)
Board component engineering (selection, qualification, relationship)
Schematic design and capture
DFM, DFT, EMI, ESD, and reliable manufactured systems principles
Prototyping and hardware lab bring-up and design verification

Extensive demonstrated experience in system-level design and qualification, including:
Robust outdoor environmental conditions design (mechanical, thermal, vibration, and related systems issues)
System component engineering (selection, qualification, relationships)
Working knowledge of manufacturing and systems QA operations

Significant demonstrated experience in a technical team leadership roles, including:
Project management (planning, task/resource partition, risk mitigation, tracking)
Management of 3rd party individual and company design partners
Employee skills development and performance management

Various computer wired and wireless communication technologies
